(It’s back to the locker room of the USPW Sportatorium with Pat Gordon, Junior again waiting to be interviewed. This week, however, Jason Azaria will be conducting the interview. It has nothing to do with who is conducting the interview, but Pat Gordon, Junior seems to be in much better spirits this week!)
Jason Azaria: “Welcome, USPW fans! I’m Jason Azaria and I’m here to interview one of the semi-finalists in the World Title Tournament, a man who has been making waves here in United States Pro Wrestling, Pat Gordon, Junior. Pat, it’s been a tough two weeks for you thus far, first getting hit in the head with a steel chair by Aric Mercury in round one and then facing off an upset-minded ‘Marvelous’ Mark Cushman in round two. What are your thoughts on these previous two weeks?”
PGJR: “Well, Jason, I’m still not happy about Aric Mercury bringing that chair into our match. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m pleasantly surprised he decided to stay out of my business last week, but I still owe him some payback. So Aric Mercury, I DARE you to get in my face again, because that payback is coming soon!”
Jason Azaria: “I’m sure you’ll be looking forward to the day you can get in the ring with again. But last week, you debuted a new move and put Mark Cushman on the sidelines when you broke his fingers. Is there anything you want to say to Mark Cushman? I mean how do you live with yourself after doing something like that?”
(Pat Gordon, Junior looks apologetically into the camera.)
PGJR: “As much of an occupational hazard it is to step into a wrestling ring week in and week out, it’s still no great feeling whenever you injure a spirited competitor like ‘Marvelous’ Mark Cushman. You know, I tried that Finger-Four in a match for the first time against Mark, and while I won the match, it came at a cost. I want to apologize for that cost. See, getting into that ring and competing is how guys like me and Mark Cushman make our living. If Mark can’t wrestle, then he can’t earn money. And I’m really sorry about that. Mark is a great guy and I’d never intentionally injure him.
“So, Mark, if you can’t drive around or need any help at all because of those broken fingers, just give me a call and I’ll do my best. I don’t want there to be any hard feelings between the two of us and I hope from the bottom of my heart that you can forgive me for that injury. I didn’t mean to hurt you, Mark, and I sincerely hope you can get back into action here in the United States Pro Wrestling soon!”
Jason Azaria: “What a heartfelt apology. Now this week, Pat, you’re facing Fortuna in the semi-finals. You’re one step away from the World Title Final at WrestleCade. You’re just two wins away from being the first ever United States Pro Wrestling World Champion. What are your thoughts going into this important semi-final match against Fortuna?”
PGJR: “It’s like you said, Jason, this semi-final is an important match. It feels good to be so close, but you always have to remember that so close can get so far away pretty quick. That can definitely happen when you step in the ring with a wrestler like Fortuna. Now there’s a guy that fortune doesn’t NEED to smile upon! He’s an outstanding mat wrestler and that’s why I’m looking forward to our matchup this week so much. You got two great competitors who won’t back down, two great competitors who are undefeated so far in USPW AND ranked in the top five! Both of us come with a great technical wrestling background. Now we’re gonna get the chance to see who the best wrestler is. We both know that a match like this rests on a knife edge; you’re no more than three seconds away from glory or gloom. That’s enough to get the heart pumping and the adrenaline flowing, Jason!
“So come Friday night at USPW Freedom, I’m gonna fight as hard as I can to make sure that the USPW gets one step closer to the #PGEra. That’s one promise you can rely on!”
Jason Azaria: “Thank you for your thoughts, Pat Gordon, Junior. This has been Jason Azaria with another exciting United States Pro Wrestling interview!”
(Gordon pats Jason Azaria on the back before he leaves the locker room. Fade out.)
